YMCA Swimming

In photojournalism class we were told our assignment for the day was to get a shot using a telephoto lens and a shot that is technically a vertical shot. It was really cold outside so, my first thought was to go to the YMCA. I saw this guy swimming laps by himself near the window side of the pool and asked if I could take some photos. The only problem I encountered was that the pool was shaded all over except some spots of the pool had sun beams on it. So, I waited until the man swam into the sun beams so he would be lit for the photo.

A&T Swim Meet

EQUIPMENT:
Canon 30D
Canon 70-200
2 White Lightenings Heads
Pocket Wizzards

PROCESS:
I set up two White Lightenings on light stands at the same side of the swimming pool, in opposite corners. I wish I could've set up the lights farther to the sides of the swimming pool, instead of the corners. Because some shots I got looked like on camera flash, and everyone knows, thats bad. But I had to set up the lights on the corners for safety reasons, which is understandable.
