The NFL!! That has gotta be the coolest thing I have ever shot and I could definitely get use to doing it! First of all the lighting at the Bank of America Stadium is AWESOME! I wish I could've check out a better lens (300AF 2.8) for that night, but I don't have priority over the good stuff. But, not having the best lens didn't stop me from trying to get some good stuff. I worked with what I had. Hopefully this internship will allow me to go to another NFL game!

Duke vs. Shaw

EQUIPMENT:
Nikon D1H
300mm f/4.5 manual
50mm manual
135mm manual

PROCESS:
The Duke vs. Shaw basketball game was not fun to shoot at all. First of all the lighting at Duke is horrible and second of all almost everyone working there doesn't know exactly what they are doing and no one knows where media is suppost to park. But anyways, I wasn't able to check out what I think is the best lens for shooting basketball (70-200mm) so that made the whole experience even better. I had one camera body and three manual lens, which I kept taking on and off as the players went to opposite ends of the court. At least it kept me alert, but having to switch lens caused me to miss some good shots. But, I definitely would like to go and tackle that shooting experience again and maybe I'll get something better next time.

A&T Swim Meet

EQUIPMENT:
Nikon D1H
80-200mm
285Q

PROCESS:
Shooting A&T's swim meet was a lot of fun for me, I dont know why, but I enjoy shooting swimming. When I first got to A&T's swim meet I noticed these two balconys on each end of the pool and I immediately thought I wanted to put my two 285Qs on each side and pop the swimmers at both angles. But, there was a gate over the entrance to get to the balcony and the man with the key was not there, so that idea was trash. So, I looked around to get another idea and I noticed how along the side of the pool (opposite the window side) there was a white wall and CLICK! it all registered. So, I set up a 285Q on a light stand and pointed it high up on the wall and just bounced my light onto the swimmers. Good thing the white wall was there cause the lighting there was bad and I would've had to use on camera flash.

A&T Step Show

EQUIPMENT:
Nikon D1H

17-35mm

PROCESS:
During A&T's homecoming there were many events going on for the students to go to and participate in. One of the events was a Sorority Step-Show located at the Greensboro coliseum. This event was yet another interesting event to photograph. When I first got to the coliseum the people running the step show thought I were suspicious and wouldn't let me go in until the "big man" came to assist me. So, once the "big man" came he noticed all my lighting equipment I had to set up and he said I wasn't allowed to do any sort of flashing. I knew it was going to be dark in there and I thought, well, what's the point in even trying to get something. But, I went in to check it out and the lighting was good, but... only for like a split second because they were strobes of many different colors, which kept changing like every second (like at a concert). So, getting a decent lit image was a challenge.

A&T Homecoming

EQUIPMENT:
Nikon D1H
300mm

PROCESS:
During the first weekend of my internship at the Carolina Peacemaker I had to photograph A&T's homecoming. I have never seen so many people get sooo into a homecoming, but it was awesome. Expecially during the half time performance when FLAVA-FLAV came walking out with A&T's band, wearing his big A&T clock. It was pretty cool cause Flava-Flav was about 5 feet from me dancing around in his band uniform. But other than that, the lighting was good cause it was daylight, not FNF shooting conditions.

ACC Coaches

For the newspaper im interning with I got the opportunity to go eat an awesome meal with the ACC coaches and some players. I had to get headshots of four coaches for my newspaper, but I took it upon myself to photograph all the ACC coaches just to say I got the chance to, but here are the four coaches my newspaper wanted headshots of.
